Let yourself move slower
You don’t need to rush. Give yourself permission to go at a softer pace. Slowing down doesn’t mean giving up. it means honoring where you’re at. It means allowing your body to rest while you still go about your day.
Simplify everything
Cut the non-essentials. Say no. Delay what can wait. Make Easy meals, have Flexible routines, and keep plans minimal. Keep it light.
Drink something warm and comforting
Tea, coffee, broth, lemon water. it doesn’t matter what it is. Just something to hold in both hands that helps you pause and breathe. savor the moment of that pause.
Get outside, even just for five minutes
Fresh air can be surprisingly grounding. Sit on the porch, step into the yard, open a window. let your senses reset.
Check in with your body
Are you hungry? Dehydrated? Overstimulated? Sometimes exhaustion has a simple physical fix we overlook in the rush. i get overstimulated pretty easy. sometimes i go to my room for a mental break. find what works for you.
Let go of the pressure to “bounce back”
You don’t owe anyone a quick recovery. Your energy will return in its own time. No need to force it.
Protect your quiet moments
Put your phone down. Turn the volume down. Let there be silence for a while. Exhaustion doesn’t like noise. Sometimes i will drive home in complete silence. or i will play the quiet game with my kids. It gives my mind a mental break, even if only for a moment.
Lower the bar… for real
What’s the actual minimum you need to get through today? Do that. Not everything needs to be done now. it does not need to be perfect.
Take small pleasures seriously
Fresh sheets, your favorite hoodie, a cozy playlist, a five minute stretch. watch a good for your soul show. mine is friends. I turn on that and enjoy. something in my core resets. Tiny comforts matter more when energy is low.
Remember this is temporary
Exhaustion isn’t forever. You’re allowed to be tired. Trust that your spark isn’t gone. it’s just resting. seasons come and seasons go. This too shall pass.
